Seasons of Life

SEASONS OF LIFE

For some peace falls from veils of evening shade
As life moves ever slower t’ward night’s reign
But I choose calm when gentle morning rain
Soft palpitates on broad leaf woodland glade

The cycles of our life make harmonies in
Diurnal tides bestowing night and day
While every year the changes of the season
Give allegory of how we face the fray

Springtime of youth sees each new brightening dawn
As endless opportunity to be
While early winter view: grey skies forlorn
May hint to age a dulling of esprit

Yet I’ll elect the spring and break of day
With glint of morning sun on hair now grey
