Questions of Strength

Am I strong enough to rise above
To leave offenses down below
And squash excuses as I grow
Look misfortunes in the eye
Doing life, right by their side

Am I brave enough to not look back
To not sweat the things I’ve done
Or sleep away my time with sun
To keep on moving through the storm
To never slouch, losing form

Am I good enough to make you proud
To make the world a better place
And not just fill an empty space
To be an asset, with a purpose
And find the substance, ‘neath my surface

I think we as humans can do anything we set our minds to. Even overcoming our own personal battles with our perceived shortcomings. Life is, after all, only the survival of the fittest. When we stop fighting, we die. I love the depth of this one Anna.
