you call out
to someone who wasn't me
you blessed there name and
gave them a little fame
but all in all it wasn't me
that trophy, awarded
to gleam and shine
never will shine for me
so my eyes well with pain
and my tears sparkle
even in this painful desire
just for you to award
me the truth
