Pleasant read my friend. Nice to share your joy of spending time with your mom. From comment below, I see congratulations are in order. Yeah! I love my mom, so much and appreciate the fact that she taught me as a young boy ... she told me, " all women are here on earth for men to respect, admire, and love. Find you one that you can respect, then admire, then love forever and invite her to share her life with you. You will have a blessed life my son." She was so right! Bill

why are you awake at this hour? Why am I? I just realized that the time on Soup must be your time, Mountain, right? Your comment says 1:16am and my reply says 1:20 am when it is actually 4:20 am here. The math works. Maybe you already knew that, but I hadn't ciphered it yet. CayCay

Craft down. Book hooked. You have such creative phrases. Adorable set. Your mom sounds like she was better than mine in your childhood. When I think about it, my mom did not really play with us. I think she only read to us at night gosh was I am even more interactive mother with MY kids than my mom was with us? What a thought.

She was the best Mom ever, until she wasn't, as you know. Best Mom when a child, best friend when I was an adult, then she dramatically and drastically changed beginning in her late 50s. Had a great talk w/ her today, 8-8, on her birthday, meanwhile my sister (tag, she's it now) is struggling to find Mom's wallet and/or restore its contents. Been there, lived that. Love, CayCay

My Moma (that's how I've spelled it since sounding it out at 4) turns 89 tomorrow and I enclosed these haikus in her Birthday card. They're all true and I know she'll remember - each time she reads it, she'll re-remember. She's in Texas, me Florida, so I'll love her on the phone. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

I hope my Moma loves them when she finds them in her birthday card tomorrow, think she'll get the card on her BD. They're all true memories. I don't know where my self-esteem would have landed w/o my Moma's love. (I know I spell Moma wrong, it's my way since age 4 & how I spelled it for her copy) Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Ask him, Jan, don't wonder when you can know. Does he have any idea what a haiku is, should you present him the form and challenge? Might be fun and a bonding time. The whole family could participate. You've got my thoughts tumbling! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

That Moma played with me made a huge impact on my ability to like myself because I didn't fair as well with my Dad though we loved each other dearly. You would have loved the Barbie dresses she knitted when I had my tonsils removed! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
