Imagination can fly one away To those places where one’s fantasy’s stray Hitching a lift upon a passing cloud Seeing the world anew, from upside down. Imagine being on a sunny beach When the possibilities out of reach Soaking up the sun, swimming in the sea Wearing only trunks or a bikini. Envisage the summer love never ceased Flowers in one’s hair, a signal of peace Dancing in the streets, a hippie’s delight In San Francisco, from morn to night. Imagine how wonderful life could be If all folk on earth lived in unity Across the world all people holding hands Happy as lambs and babies in their prams. Picture a smile upon everyone’s face Imagine all folk blessed with pure divine grace. * * *

My dear, dear friend, that would be a Utopia, fortunately our poetic minds allow us to think how great that sounds. Perfectly you have described a happy, content Planet Earth but Reality is grimmer however, theft, murder power and starvation. I WISH YOUR POEM COULD COME TRUE! HUGS GALORE, Jennifer.

The sunny beach and carefree love evoke a perfect, dreamy escape, while the closing vision of universal harmony feels truly uplifting. A lovely reminder of the power of imagination to inspire better days.

lovely poem...reminds me a bit of John Lennon's song, "Imagine." I love the positive energy in your poem. Best wishes with the contest, Sara

Dear Beryl, I felt myself drifting on those “passing clouds,” caught between laughter and longing for all the places fantasy dares to go. I felt I was viewing out a window thrown open where the golden light of a beach, the swirl of ‘60s freedom, the deepest wish for a world linked hand-in-hand. As John Lennon said, "Imagine all the people..." Summer Blessings, My Dear Beryl, Daniel I love how you let Imagination be both the engine and the wings.

I believe the world you depict will become reality under God's kingdom. It's arrival is imminent.
