I Dream of Thee

SPARKLING EYES IN POOLS SO DEEP
WHENCE DISTANT LAND THOU CAME.
LAY THINE HEAD UPON MINE BREAST
PRAY WHISPER ME THY NAME.

PRAY DID THOU COME FROM HEAVEN
TO BLESS MINE EYES WITH THEE.
STILL MINE HEART FROM BEATING FAST
SHRIFT AN ANGEL THOU MUST BE.

WILL THY DON THINE PARTICOAT
TO DANCE WITH ME THIS NIGHT.
DRAW THINE ARMS IN WARM EMBRACE
FROM HENCE TIL MORNING LIGHT.

THOU BRINGS MINE HEART TO QUICKEN
HENCEFORTH TIL MY DAYS DOTH END.
IM GAST THIS NIGHT BE OVER SOON
ALL ANGELS DOTH ASCEND.

thank you Emilia, I`m not sure about any more though, it was hard to find old English words that made any sense, lol. thats why Shakespeare was a genius. take care

I've got the U2 song I still haven't found what I'm looking for buzzing in my head, can only hope our dreams come true - I dream of being a real poet one day lol:-) hugs jan xx

Hi Jan, I'm trying to compete with Shakespeare, lol. Couldn't believe how hard it was to try and make it rhyme. TAKE care.:-):-)
