As Though My Darkness Wouldn't Consume

My Particles are arrested,
Solitary, confined, and all together
Quit invested
In hope.
My childlike wonder ran ablaze
With firey sparks and
My mind was in a daze.
There are such precious moments sprinkled, like gitter,
among the trauma and scars that
Give credence to something beautuful. See,
I ain't bitter.
I was a moth among fireflies, dancing in flame,
No danger at all, just a wild spirit to tame.
Just drawn to lights
As though my darkness wouldn't consume.
