The Sea Shall

The sea shall come
The sea shall go,
Winds in the wave
Pushing to and fro

If I should seek
The sea shall find,
To wash me ashore
With a clearer mind

Tumbled as long as
The sea shall stand,
Only to end up ...
Polished on the sand

Reclined on the grit
Below vast blue sky,
The sea shall wave
One last goodbye.

Kelly, love your "cube" poem that in its rhythm perfectly reflects the movement of waves and tides. Your word choice is so reflective of the sea - "come and go" and a sense of serenity. Love the personification of the sea waving good-bye as the tide goes out! Well done! Blessings to you!

I enjoyed this poem so much. I used to live by the ocean for years but not anymore. Your poem brought me back to my quiet walks there. The sea holds so much mystery and history, and gives poets and writers so much to write about doesn't it? This was a lovely poem and I enjoyed it's imagery Kelly.

This has great imagination. I can see a pebble, facing its tumbling fate. It has the power feel of the ocean.
