the noises of Paris

63 The noises of Paris

There comes an age and wisdom,
When it is more interesting
To listen to Shostakovich’s symphony number five,
Than to be interested in the noises of Paris,

There comes an age and wisdom,
When it is more rewarding
To marvel at Chagall or Goya
Than to be interested in the noises of Paris,

There comes an age and wisdom
When people have no more secrets,
Art becomes the only answer
To the questions of life,

There comes an age and wisdom
Where it is urgent to save his soul
To listen to speak of the Portuguese, without understanding them,
Rather than listen to the sounds of Paris.

Our priorities change as we grow old. Those things that delighted us when we were young may not interest us as we grow more mature. The noise of a steaming city, we find annoying. Instead we like to listen to some music. So meaningful, full of wisdom, dear Yaan!

Enjoyed your creative work about the changes that our lives can go through (though some people never mature) as we go through the stages of life. Thanks for sharing your talent with us and dropping by my page. Sara K

thanks Kim, for the kind comment, Paris is a city of art, with plenty of museums, there are many things to do there, but i prefer quietness of my country in brittany, where i find inspiration

I think someone really hates the noise of Paris. haha. I recall seeing it the one time in my life when I got to travel abroad, so long ago. My best impression of it what eating the pastries and chocolates and just walking those cobblestone back streets and getting to see art in the Louvre. It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

This is such a deeply intriguing and thoughtful write that would make any reader ponder and think of all that youv delivered in such a poetic manner. I really felt the lines “ There comes an age and wisdom When people have no more secrets, Art becomes the only answer To the questions of life,” powerful! Im waitingfor that day. But for me art is the only answer to questions of life. Pleasure readinv your work. Sending you light

Wise words, my friend. There is a time to retreat from the noise and chaos of the world and listen in silence to the voice within, for wisdom and truth. Thank you for sharing this truth with us, Yann. Your poetry is meaningful to me. Bill
