Notes About The Poem

Charles Kirk's assassination took Epstein out of the news. Now D.T. (deranged testicle) attempts to use this murder to restore his dwindling popularity by blaming the left. However, Don fails to mention that democrats and liberals have been recent targets of violence also.

What message comes from praising and releasing the January 6 rioters including those who attacked police? Hmmm, does anyone in MAGA see an inconsistency here? On the anniversary of September 11, this doesn't feel encouraging. Have we not learned that we need to work together for a better world for all? At least we the living can still smile.

Duke, a powerful poem and message. It's a shame how "DT" is running our Country. It's appalling that he gets away with it as well. I have seen the reports that his popularity is dwindling even among MAGA supporters. Some days I can't watch the news without feeling disgust.

Hi Tania. The lies have a damaging affect, and it's part of an attack strategy meant to discourage the opposition. This type of activity circumvents the real challenge of government, which gets people together to discuss and find solutions to issues we all confront. In actual fact, the hard work of trying a variety of solutions and seeking compromise creates a lot of satisfaction among those involved. Unfortunately, the people at the top have their own vision, don't like different people, and want to impose their views on everyone. They see themselves as winners and the rest of us as losers, and they will say and do what they deem necessary to take more and more control of government. The diversity of government protected us all for many years, but times are different now. Smiles!!

We must not forget Melissa Hortman and husband! He's putting words never said in our mouths, Duke. I never would say something I do not believe in such as "men in dresses birthing mother" Please define Liberal? Lincoln was considered "liberal" for freeing the slaves. John Wilkes Booth was a "conservative" for wanting to keep slavery.

Anaya, Hortman was a wonderful politician, mother, and wife and we miss her. The radical right distorts the truth, levels numerous charges, and then quickly moves on leaving all sorts of damage in their wake. OTH, we accept facts and try to integrate them into a meaningful whole without name-calling and gross distortion. What we see here is a small example of the difference. They have been successful at it for a while, but we won't let "them" get away with that here. Smiles, of course!!

Arthur, even the president has lost interest in the assassination. A reporter offered the president his condolences on the loss of his friend Kirk and asked Trump how he was holding up. The president answered, in full: “I think very good. And by the way, right there, you see all the trucks, they just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get, as you know, for about 150 years, and it's going to be a beauty. It’ll be an absolutely magnificent structure. And I just see all the trucks. We just started so it'll get done very nicely and it'll be one of the best anywhere in the world, actually. Thank you very much.”

Arthur, the President and his associates wanted to use this assassination for political purposes, and they've become remarkably silent on who Tyler Robinson is after saying some pretty harsh words. He's not the poster boy they desired. Who will be the last one standing in this slur by the right? This, as you say, is not a left vs right issue. There's something here that affects us all. Sad stuff indeed. The lives of a family destroyed by gun violence. It seems like a constant thing here.

Here’s the difference between conservatives and liberals, after Charlie’s death we have prayer vigils whereas after George Floyd’s death we had 8 months of rioting, looting, arson, and murder across the country. The claim that he had used “transgender ideology” was apparently a misreading of the headstamp “TRN” that marks ammunition as the product of Turkish manufacturer Turan. Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), who had used a slur to refer to the shooter as pro-transgender, posted on social media: “We know Charlie Kirk would want us to pray for such an evil, and lost individual like Tyler Robinson to find Jesus Christ. We will try to do the same.” For some of us, facts actually matter. Keith. You’re not making yourself look good by shooting your mouth off.

Anaya, yes, facts do matter. This event and the initial reaction to it could be a wake-up opportunity for someone who thinks the world must conform to his view of things, However, I would be shocked if that happened. Some of us can admit we made a mistake. I've made plenty...it's part of being alive and human.

Duke, your opinion on American political matters may not be shared by everyone, but as a citizen of our withering country, they are YOUR opinions. There's no reason for you to be called names, especially since your responses were not argumentative. Again, a posted political opinion has been taken to a boxing ring by 2 people who are not Americans. They have the right to their thoughts, no matter how they differ, but no one has the right to be rude to you. No guy is ever the right guy to kill.

Thanks for your comment Keith. I always appreciate and consider your comments. BTW, I do get what you are saying and don't mind if you find what I've done discomfortingly mean. Please know that I did not feel glee about what I wrote, and I appreciate the horror you sense regarding the subject matter. However, D.T.'s reactionary comments yesterday inspired me to write this poem meant to point out where and how violence and hate originate. Keith, you can shoot the messenger (me) verbally, but what did your hero D.T. say? His response to this assassination was inflammatory and inappropriate--the opposite of what it should have been. I don't expect you to agree with that point, but I would have much more respect for you if you would. The real hypocrite here is not yours truly. There's an old saying, "A fish rots from the head." The leader in the Oval Office sets the tone for the entire political landscape. Sorry to have to tell you, his response stank.

It contains Charlie's last words , his thoughts on mass shootings questioned before he was shot, "gun violence the price we pay for defending the 2nd amendment" then he was assassinated. Proud boy wannabe's , influence their sons perhaps. We'll find out soon if its one more incell loner acting alone. I'm outraged at the president for his rhetoric!

Thanks Anaya, it's rather shameful that anyone resort to violence against anyone. It's also shameful to accuse those on the left who believe in compromise and negotiation of causing the violence. D.T. (detestable tsar) is a dictator-wannabe fomenting more violence for his own political gain. It doesn't inspire confidence and goes against what rational politicians are saying. However, it certainly did silence the Epstein association he was having difficulty dealing with. Smiles!!
