Sunshine girl

~ Along a quiet river by a lonely looking tree, a meadowlark way up above began to sing to me It's song was so enchanting that it sent my mind a whirl, I grabbed a stone and skipped it thinking bout that sunshine girl Her kiss was sent from heaven and her eyes were to adore, her beauty took my breath away I couldn't ask for more My lucky stars were shining and my feet were off the ground, I hoped it was forever with this angel I had found When came the day she left me as a tear my eye did send, for in this moment, I could feel my heart breaking again But then I had to smile as my inner self could see, that if I hadn't met her I'd not know what love could be So, now I just go walking thinking bout that past romance and cannot stop believing  I will get a second chance But if that never happens then right here is where I'll be, along a quiet river by a lonely looking tree ~

'Don't stop believing, hold on to that feeling' - something like that. So sad and, to me, relatable. I know the weight of this feel and its ability to long endure. The pain, the question: is pain worth the memory gained and all the emotion that follows you everywhere. Despite the poem's emotional inensity, it's a thrill to read you. You make pain poetically lush. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Gosh, what a 'make the best of it' denouement, Chris. So bittersweet... Here's to your delicate touch, Gershon

Chris - this is touching and very beautiful and, of course, perfectly rhymed (which I appreciate very much!)...
