Sunshine girl
~
Along a quiet river
by a lonely looking tree,
a meadowlark way up above
began to sing to me
It's song was so enchanting
that it sent my mind a whirl,
I grabbed a stone and skipped it
thinking bout that sunshine girl
Her kiss was sent from heaven
and her eyes were to adore,
her beauty took my breath away
I couldn't ask for more
My lucky stars were shining
and my feet were off the ground,
I hoped it was forever
with this angel I had found
When came the day she left me
as a tear my eye did send,
for in this moment, I could feel
my heart breaking again
But then I had to smile
as my inner self could see,
that if I hadn't met her
I'd not know what love could be
So, now I just go walking
thinking bout that past romance
and cannot stop believing
I will get a second chance
But if that never happens
then right here is where I'll be,
along a quiet river
by a lonely looking tree
