Notes About The Poem

Sonata in Silver

Dusk fell like dust.
And in the hush of the night
Stars twinkle in splendid formation:
There an Orion, or a Little Bear
Or the famous Pleiades.
So many glitters that dot the vast sky,

In essence a melody superbly charged,
Like magic fingers on an enormous scale,
Delightful arpeggio eliciting occasional sounds
Into an allegro that has one great maestro:
The silver moon that directs all
Into a masterful sonata as its rays
Penetrate on lovers as they dream
Or make love in their various restful places.

Hush, I see many on their sailing boats
Their sail cloth glimmering in silver hues
Upon the vast calm waves of the ocean
With movements of contrasting moods,
A waltz that is so refined in splendid silver sonata.
Of beauty and dreams that fade on sunrise.

Dear Victor, there's such elegance in how you move from the cosmic scale down to the intimate, from constellations to lovers, from the vast sky to sailing boats. The sense of movement and rhythm throughout makes me feel like dancing. Blessings, Dear Victor, Daniel

This is very creative and how you made the moon the director of it all. Write on, Victor.

Dearest Victor, your beautiful poem reads like the night sky itself sat down at a piano — elegant, dreamy, and full of silver magic, though I would prefer day sailing...Hugs PS Im posting one about Soul Mates soon, I think you'll like the song

Great way to go with this one. I can't imagine sailing boats at night, but I know it happens. I am wondering though if it was real sailing boats or you were seeing sailing ships in the stars. Thanks for sharing this descriptive one with us. I enjoyed reading it. Sara K
