Remember These Words

      With everyone you ever meet
With every step of your two feet
         Every time that you compete

If you want your life to be complete
       Remember these words forever sweet
‘Respect’ is ever a two-way street

Excellent message - I like the way you build up to it, and it should be a strong message when you get there - to line 6, and it is (doesn't disappoint) ...this would be good for Line's contest.

Thanks, David. Your support is worth way more to me than a placement in some contest. I've become a contest boycotter. lol.

People took the 'dis' off of disrespect and made it 'a thing,' I'm afraid...

We give certain levels of trust to each person. Some, almost 100 percent, others 20 percent. So we can love all people, but we gauge what we can share. We, of course hope for shared respect.

Several young men objected, saying I was "disrespecting" them. They were stunned when I informed them that they had not EARNED my respect. That I offered them the opportunity to earn my respect and hoped they would use it by offering me that same opportunity to earn theirs.

Yes, if we want to be respected, we need to respect others. So much happening in today's world that is disrespectful. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K
