Of jaded muses and digital distractions - POTW

Listen to poem:
The allure of mused poems,
No longer visits this nonchalant psyche.
It trickles now, once a roaring torrent
Now a lazy stream

Am like a desultory jaded heaven
Where starry jewels once decked the night,
But are now drossy shadowy blackholes,
And sparks and dreams,
Are ripped in the accretion disc.

No longer avid, but seeking meaning in the mundane.
No longer enraptured by the she said, he said,
And all that jazz, no iota of care; for trifling muses,
Their short goodbyes or critique, no not one,
Their infighting and bad blood, no longer,
No nuts to crack, nor rain to flush, no iota of care.

It was never about who is better,
Neither has it been nor will it ever be,
About any Magnum Opus.

Like doors closing and skies descending,
Each visiting muse devoid of ardor,
Oblivious to the yawning dawn,
Or the scent of sprouting posies.
Jaded, without allure or sheen
And devoid of all its lustre.

Maybe one day soon a spark will reignite
And reanimate this frenetic mused madness
But until then...

I remain adrift in this sea of trivialities,
Worrying about trifling stuff
Like ad blockers and AI opinions
And irked...

By their emasculating knowledge

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

True poetry Mo. When the inspiration is gone, then what? In comes the trivial and mundane, the minutiae of life. Enjoy your special week

Hello Marugu, There are so many distractions that technology puts on society and creativity. So well stated and all the exasperation that comes with change. A great POTW and I hope that muse does return. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

The muse: ' It trickles, ' but now a lazy stream. ' Yes, I think we can all relate. It's can be frustrating, but waiting is best. ' Words ' will always appear when the time is right. :) You've created a masterpiece, my dear friend. Congratulations Marugu, on Poem of the Week. :) Hugs, Brandy

Thanks. I am intrigued with your line of work. In this day and age one might be tempted to think Theatre and the performing arts are dead. I will visit

Thanks for your comments and visit. About the voice that's AI generated. I thought I experiment with spoken word and dramatic monologue prompts. I liked what it spewed out and here we are

Wow! Where do i begin praising this MM, i just love the spoken too, so powerful! And your words resonate with me and you really have a way with words! I cant even! I love especially “ No longer avid, but seeking meaning in the mundane. No longer enraptured by the she said, he said, And all that jazz, no iota of care; for trifling muses, Their short goodbyes or critique, no not one,“ how powerful! Whoa! And the ending! I was just thinking the same two days ago, about how im sick and tired, of AI opinions, and yes Maybe one day soon a spark will reignite, until then, dont stop, expressing anyhow! What an impressive write this is! A fave definitely. Sending you light always

Thanks Inky. Ironically creating poetry when feeling so sapped of creativity. I was inspired to re-post/re-write this by your poem vanishing point. Thanks for your thoughtful words. Love&Light
