Let The Flowers Grow Again

 

My garden is fading and the flowers wilting,
      the cold nights are cruel for such beauty;
some struggle to bloom but it is to no avail,
    I see the bees checking out each dead bloom.

I suppose the bees do not understand the why,
     why do favorite blooms have no nectar;
they buzz from flower to flower with such sweet hope,
   but, in time leave the garden heartbroken.

I dream ... oh, what if the garden could bloom again,
     all the roses, daisies, and others in bloom;
welcoming the bees, butterflies and hummer's back,
   just a dream ... for today brings a cold wind.
