Gray

Overcast and weary
Gray skies squelch
The suns rays of glory
A formidable haunting
Dark trees encapsulated
In vacant landscapes
Leaves have fallen
Limbs are bare
Gray is the color
Vacant penetrating
All absorbing
Trees appear as
Monumental dark
Monsters fingers extending
To the sky above
And as I watch
Looking for any
Movement they appear
Lifeless frozen
Who would think
Gray could be
So overpowering with
The absence of color
