Eclipse

I will not see the eclipse today.
It will not pass this western way.
I won't go out, no need for bonnet.
Anyhow, I'd rather see a comet.

I glimpsed what I could of the eclipse as it passed by here...from my living room window. I've never seen a comet, but I'll bet it would be a heck of a lot more exciting.

I've seen a few comets. They are interesting because the tail doesn't always follow behind. When going away from the sun, the tail appears to be in front. Thank you for reading Eclipse.

Yes, that's the comet that I remember best. We could see it from my house when my son was little, and we even went to the mountains away from the city to get a better view.

I did see the comet called Hale Bop. It was a rare occurrence. I don't watch the eclipse of the sun because of possible eye damage. I'm glad my poem made you laugh.

A large crowd assembled to witness the total solar eclipse, while others might consider asteroid impacts to be more captivating.

And shooting stars are supposed to be good luck. The warnings about burning the retina by looking at an eclipse cause me to stay inside. But will we get warm weather this year?
