Bestfriend

I want this loneliness to end,
I need a bestfriend,
I'm tired,
I'm lost,
Where do I run to
When I need to cry?
You know, the water droplets that come out of eyes
When your heart is heavy like a
Bag full of wet cotton,
That ache worse than a grazed knee,
Where do I run to?
Who do I run to?
I'm lost,
In an ocean,
Down,
   Down,
        Down,
           In the middle of
                  N
                      O
                 W
                          H
               E
                           R
                                   E
I can't breathe,
My lungs are swollen
Soaked in salty tears,
My wails are wasted,
The world is deaf and blind.

Loneliness is a great curse to most of the people. Though many won't speak it out, they suffer inwardly while putting on a happy demeanor. Even in a crowd, some feel quite lonely. I can sense your pain and feel for you. Poetry is a great way to let out our pent up feelings of pain, anxiety or joy. It is cathartic. Anne, you can shine in the world of poetry. All the Best!

This is my first visit to your poetry, Anne. I will follow your poetry and read as you share. Thank you for being so vulnerable with your feelings and emotions. Many of us will relate to the imagery you've used in this poem. Those of us that have felt the pain of loneliness hurt with you. Know that there are many people here that will be poet friends with you. When I'm my loneliest, I turn to my Creator, He knows me best and loves all of His creation. Smiles ~ Blessings, Bill

Dear Bill, thank you so much for writing such a thoughtful and heartfelt note. I truly appreciate you. Being vulnerable is a part of being a human. We all have good or bad days but life goes on and on beautifully. Beautiful journey. Hugs

Dearest Anne, I could feel the weight of your loneliness, the exhaustion, the sense of being lost and unseen. Oh, those “water droplets that come out of eyes when your heart is heavy like a bag full of wet cotton” is just so perfectly, painfully true. And being pulled down, down, down, until you’re nowhere, unable to breathe… it’s haunting, and it’s honest. Your vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness. Sharing your pain doesn’t make you a burden but it makes you human, and it draws people closer to you. I hope you know that you matter so much, and that you are loved, even on the days when it’s hard to believe it. Summer Blessings, My Dearest Anne, Daniel

My Dearest Daniel, your words sank deep into my soul, touching places that felt lost and forgotten. They reminded me that I'm not alone, that someone sees and feels my pain. Your empathy is a balm that soothes my heart, giving me the strength to face another day. Thank you for being a safe haven, a place where I can be vulnerable and still be loved. With love and respect always, Anne

Dear Brandy, you are a wonderful friend :) so I met this person a few days ago and we had a really well conversation. I felt sort of a connection, I don't usually feel this way. Then we just kinda spaced out or it's just me idk. Now I'm feeling pretty empty and lonely, idk why. It's really confusing and overwhelming.

This really got to me. You’ve put into words something so many people feel but struggle to say that ache of loneliness, of needing someone, of feeling like you're drowning in emotion while the world just carries on, unaware. The imagery of "a bag full of wet cotton" and "lungs...soaked in salty tears" is so vivid, it physically hurts to read in the best kind of honest way. You’re not alone in feeling this, even if it feels like it right now. Thank you for being brave enough to write it

Well done! The search for a best friend. Start with friends and see who rises like cream to the top. I loved reading a book called “Girlfriends.” Made me realize that there are different types of friendships. God bless you, Anne!

I lost a friend recently and it hurts. People pass through our lives sometimes and the precious ones are hard to find often. My only consolation is I can be that for someone too x

Sadly many feel this way and see no end to the loneliness. Loneliness is epidemic right now and is known to shorten life spans. Thankfully, my girl is absolutely my best buddy, and vice versa. Creative poetry Ann
