An Open Door

Hatred in a marriage is the Devil's work.
Set her free, cast your marriage vows apart.
Vengeance in a marriage is the Devil's quirk.
Let her go to heal someone else's heart.

A great write, Hilda. It’s a shame when we can’t accept when things aren’t working anymore. Thank you sharing this, my friend.

I really like this. Some marriages end in murder. Horrific how a marriage partner can ever resort to such a thing

Hopefully a truce before murder. Thank you for reading this poem.

Your poem is witty and wise, Hilda. Healing begins with admitting that it's not working. So nicely composed. :)

Perfect title for this poem! I like the message. Why block your blessing as well as delay another person’s blessing right? Great engaging poem! Is it for contest?

Great poem, Hilda. Hatred and marriage seem like an impossible mix. I was just thinking how unpleasant the feeling of hatred is, both for the hater and the hated.

Yes, that is true. It is best to part with maybe a possibility of being friends.

Dear hilda, what an excellent poem this is, so powerful, and so true, marriage for me sounds like a trap haha but dont take my views personally as i seee marriages fall apart so much here where im at especially. However iv seen marriages that stay strong despite difficulties, like my grandma n grandpa, their relationship was special. Pleasure reading you after a long time: sending you light always

Assuming there was love to begin with, then turning back toward love and away from pride, may do the restorative miracle. Excellent write!

It might work. Not continuing an argument, but giving a hug and understanding can work with some people.

When love in marriage is lost, vows become immaterial. If no compromise is possible, set one free of the bondage!

It usually works that way so both can be happy. There are the rare couples whose marriage thrives because of the tension.

And a Pandora's box. Once that hatred is out of the box, very hard to jam it back in. ~ gw

An apt title, Hilda. Even a door an inch wide is worth squeezing through to get away from the Devil's work. Hopefully she finds peace.

I would have preferred peace to hatred. My late wife was an angel. I never looked at another one afterwards.
