A Wondrous Gift

As daylight breaks and wildlife wakes a morning mist forms o’er the lakes; with constant drive sun’s rays arrive, and all of nature comes alive. As morn unfolds, sun’s beams behold, and bathe the hills in shades of gold. The birds in trees, whose songs appease, will revel in the morning breeze. ‘tis in the field that nature’s yield, the flowers’ beauty is revealed, and in the skies an eagle flies repeating soft this rhyme’s reprise. I look around and hear the sound as all of nature is abound; this verdant sod on which I trod, a lovely wondrous gift of God.

Two of my favourite things nature and wildlife. I am lucky to have countryside around me and enjoy all its splendour. Love this and your flow John, Emilia : )

Hi John, You have made me nostalgic for a visit to the Kruger National Park which has just opened to the public - nature at its best as you describe it, beautiful and the earlier you get up and greet the morn, the more you see, - your poem describes the treasures of nature - I loved it and have faved it. Well penned John hugs and blessings Jenn.

You're rhyme scheme is appreciated by me, John. I know it takes time and diligence for double rhyming. Nicely written poem about the beauty of Nature.

Good morning, Jenna, thanks for noticing my rhyme scheme, I appreciate that. It does take a little more time to do this but I like to challenge myself once in a while. Looks like I made it just under the wire for the contest. Hugs, John
