Notes About The Poem

A Walk in Sunrise

Dawn creeps above the dark horizon.
Am I locked in a hazy dream?
An icy chill grips my whole body,
My legs falter in their purpose,
Can I turn back? Can I delete
This horrendous nightmarish dream?

And then, as suddenly as it all began
I see a single moonlight ray
That filtered through the trees above.
The rivers beckon still, but you are here
And sobbing, I fall into your most tender arms.
Your fragrant perfume is like honeydew,
Like a scented breeze that permeates my breath,
Saturating my lost mad soul with sanity.

Suddenly, a warm dulcet haze enveloped me.
Slowly, slowly I turn back,
Slowly, I re-enter my cold bed,
And all my nightmares are dispersed.
At last, I rest in peace.

Your poetry is so well written. Nightmares are horrible, it is a blessing when the nightmare fades, and blissful sleep leads us into peaceful and magical dreams. I'm glad you were able to go on with a restful night in peaceful slumber.

Yes, sweet rest. Still as the beauty of the wind who sings her song to those who just need to a breath of hope. Glorious and glowing with light - softly playing on the shadows of night. God bless you always Victor. Much love, Gina

A momentary experience is beautifully recorded. Sleep can escort us to a world of dreams, sometimes nightmarish, sometimes sweetly pleasant. However at the end, you pass from a nightmarish dream to pleasant sleep and rest. Lovely poem, dear Victor.

Those nightmares leave you shaken even when you wake up thankfully I haven't had one for a few years now, I try and avoid eating and drinking a few hours before I go to bed. Enjoy your weekend Victor. Tom
