- Along With The Thunder -

                                    The moment lasted a while,
                                         uncertain how long
                                       Thunder and lightning
                                           in wild confusion
                                    - flashed with sabre rays
                                    and powerful thunder sound

                                          Interrupted by hail
first as peas - then tennis balls
                                           Nature's curse,
                                    brought the evil man closer
                                  When all its elements convulse
                                  trembling with disturbed power
                                       acknowledges its status

                                        On the horizon's edge
                                         sun finally appeared
                                       As traces of inscriptions
                                          - beauty achieved

Most appealing! Like the lines: "acknowledges it's status - On the horizon's edge". Nicely penned, Anne-Lise. :) john

Sometimes in the mist of storms, it is difficult even to imagine a horizon, bright or otherwise...by the grace of God enters a gentle, soothing eye for well deserved respite -- blessed to have friends, family, and an extra special someone perhaps. Powerful image!

More than the poem, I am impressed by the image you have chosen. With your beautiful account of the thunderstorm, you have infused a fiery strength to the image and it has assumed an alarming dimension. But at the end, everything is calm. Great entry. All the Best, dear Anne. Hugs.

Wow!! I like the approach you've used to this situation. The storm was very short for us this morning around 5:30 or so. Not so short and a whole lot more damaging in some areas. Some have been very deadly and damaging in some states and areas these last few weeks and even days. Sara K

The ending was a relief as i read as i am scared of thunderstorms usually, most of the time, what an appropriate picture to go with your well woven poem for the prompt. I love the lines especially “ Thunder and lightning in wild confusion - flashed with sabre rays” i wish i had written that! Such brilliance! Pleasure reading your poem today! Sending you light always.. best wishes
