License To Fail

A thief, eyeing a sleek luxurious car, decided to finally make his move. But as he drove away, something unexpected happened. The car's owner, a meticulous man who had OCD, took out his phone from his pocket and tapped it a few times. Moments later, the car’s voice system announced, "Car payment ownership ready for transfer. Analyzing fingerprints, scanning face and bone structure. Now searching for new owner identity. This may take a few minutes…"
The thief was alarmed upon hearing this. He quickly parked the car in the first spot he could find and fleed, abandoning the stolen car.

The car owner, however, was so particular that the thought of reclaiming the tampered vehicle did not sit well with him. For him, it would be even more of a hassle undoing the ownership transfer, so he let the car go. Unfortunately for the thief, the car owner had a best friend who was a cop. When he heard what had happened, he thought it was unfair how his friend lost his car and so investigated further. First, he found the stolen car and did a background check on it's new owner. The cop uncovered that the thief worked at a car wash that his best friend, the previous owner of the car, frequented. But there was more to the story—the car wash seemed to be a front for a money laundering operation. So the cop told his best friend, and that's when they finally filed a police report, with the condition that the previous car owner would be kept far away from the chaos. The car wash ultimately got shut down, and the thief, arrested.
The car, now legally belonging to the thief, came with a mountain of debt.  Part of the sentence for his crime was working below minimum wage until the car was paid off. Only then would he be free—a free man with a car he never truly wanted.

After serving his time and paying off the car, the thief finally got the car keys. But, as he was about to get close to his new car on his way out, it exploded when he pressed the key to unlock its doors! Luckily, he was far enough away and saw his old boss from the car wash speeding off past him, and missing him just after the blast.

Ha Ha. It was funny and surprising that the ownership was transferred. My advice, end the story on that part. It'd be a great ending.
