My Biography is Coming Soon...
Ok this is my second attempt to write a Biography Thank-YOU to Light and LOVE, Deborah : Constance ~
A Rambling Poet~ , My SweetHeart, Linda-Marie, My Polonesian Princess "Nikko" and my Beloved "Barbara"
I was born in the Beautiful Berkshire Hills in Western Massachusettes Growing up in Foster Homes in the 50's I never knew of Family LOVE or LOVE at all I was Married on 8/25/71 I was Widowed on 8/25/71 my Black Heart still Exists with-in my POETRY, My Family
"POETRYSOUP" Keeps me going My Mentor "Carol Brown" was with me from the Days of POETRY.com I will redo this Bio when I know more about HOW to do it I spent 15 years in High School no extra Education when I read some of the Bio's on site I think' am I a POET? Do I pretend to be? I must Thank my Most Only Beloved " Barbara Jean Gorelick " for my " PM " Please tell me What Faults are Written with-in this Bio

Dear Team POETRYSOUP, POETESSES, and POETS, Hope this finds YOU and YOURS Healthy and High in the Spirit. Did you know that 92.7% of all first poems by Poets on POETRYSOUP are Featured on the Home page. What a thrill for the up and coming Laureate. Now with confidence soaring the POET decides to enter a Member contest and maybe add to thier repertoire of thier QUILL. They decide to enter a Contest that presents a New Form of POETRY : End Line Word. Reading the format qualifications and reading the examples given begins working on the POEM. Checking the updates : 34 out of the 35 poems asked for are posted. The rookie POET quickly finishing The Perfect "End Line Word POEM and posts it.

Mean while the sponsor reads POEM 35, which has nothing to do with the requested format. Closes the contest and begins to place the End Line Word POEMS. The Contest Placements are POSTED.

A day later the Sponsor gets a SOUP Mail from a Rookie POET it reads; "Dear Harry, my name is Paul I entered your contest; End Line Word POEM and am wondering why I did not place in the contest not even an Honorable Mention. Please tell me what i did wrong.

Reply to Paul ; Dear Paul I have just read YOUR End Line Word Entree, which I did not receive in my contest. If I had gotten sooner it would have replaced No. 2 POEM. I had 6 POEMS that did not follow the format but I could not delete them to make room for YOUR POETIC Tapestry. Do not be discouraged as I'm pretty sure other sponsors do not have a problem with poems that do not follow the Sponsors format. I do Congratulate YOU on YOUR End Line Word POEM being Featured. LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER YOUR Liege...HG

Hi Daniel, Friend. I'm hoping you are well. Sometimes, I wish poets would send soup mail asking what they did wrong in my contest. Any question is better than no question, but instead they keep entering the same poem different title, (same mentality) over and over. LOVE--- LINDA

As a newbie here's my 2 cents. You have to put a line in the sand or people would be forever asking for extensions. It's natural for people to think what they wrote is brilliant and of course there is high chance of your first poem featuring which adds to this sense. But I'm not sure pestering the judge achieves anything. The longer I'm on here the more I realise the diversity of tastes. Even reading comments on poems is helpful. Andrea quite often mentions meter so I have tried to read up on that (still struggling) others mention imagery and I've read about trying to make comments more concrete or solid. It's all part of the learning process. Miss out on a deadline? A new lesson learnt.

Good comment, Mark. And about meter, I only prefer meter for certain forms. Not all forms require meter. I think imagery is always important and just writing sentences that look a bit polished! You are a SMART newbie to notice what's up!

I have missed several contests entry deadlines by a day or two before. My poem -- God's Kind of Poetry, was such a miss. One I was sure would have placed high. Sad but happens , so I made no bones about it. http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/gods_kind_of_poetry_602072

Well my view is .., this is why we have so many entries allowed and closing dates, I think we need to honor that and guess what, I have a long list of poems that did not place in a contest and I have never gone whining to the sponsor about it, we were all new once so to me that is a lame excuse, next time the person needs to enter on time. I would not reopen the contest because then where do you stop and that expectation is unfair to the poets who did enter on time ... just my opinion of course

That did happen to me in my first few contests while in the process of closing a new entry was added that I did not know about, so there was an extra one dangling in the "read" box even after I had posted the winners. Some things are just out of our control, I did enjoy your end line word poem contest as well, cannot wait to see the winners list
