In Praise Of The Little Green Bubble

Dear PS It appears that the little green comments alert that lights up the light in any aspiring Poetry Soup poet's heart has sadly disappeared. Please tell me that it is coming back. Without it when I'm using my phone I have to check for any comments received via site links and then click the link "My Comments Inbox" in the Member area.(Unless there is a less cumbersome way that I've missed here?) I suspect people might miss replying to comments. Come on PS, that little green bubble has been ingrained into our psyches, don't lose it now. If anything you need to copyright it. Yours in praise of the little green bubble Gary PS..I did separate my paragraphs out by way of blank lines inbetween when typing this but it appears it was to no avail - it all appears on my phone as just one scrunched up paragraph. yep, grown accustommed to that little green light. I suppose we'll adapt. thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Gary, I see that there's a bright orange icon on top of the page-TEMU ... PS new cash cow that replaced ITSY (?) and that the green icon is gone (boo). PS now wants you to check your comment inbox for comments on your poems. It seems that this major overhaul and makeover of the sites directory/PS coincided with PS attracting major retailing and new advertising dollars. The right column I see Walmart, Sherwin Williams etc. I'm guessing that PS' value to advertisers is measured in the number of user "clicks" and by replacing the green icon (it's not coming back) the users are making one additional click. It's a financial win for PS imo.

I’ve got a question. What’s the best way to post a PS audio poem on Facebook? There used to be the Facebook icon on each page but they have been removed for some time.

I have the email notifications turned off - too lazy to check it and prefer 'real' mail in my inbox. I liked the bubble feature as it prompted me to respond - either directly on the comment left, or on a recent poem posted by the poet. So, yes I support the reinstalling of the bubble. In line with what Brian said below, a Grey Scale allert might do the trick, for example, on the Member's page.

Never found out 'tll first getting glasses @22!! art was not a big thing for me at school ..perhaps was reason Van Gogh sunflowers etc was my first' love ' when it did & still is .Suggest you use contact below re the bubble as they rarely read blogs Cheers

Will do Brian. I was just wanting to guage opinions before I did. I notice Tom has mentioned the lack of bubble in one of his comments on Line's blog already. I'm guessing not all people will have ticked yes for having comment notifications sent via email to them in their profile / settings because there was always the bubble to remind them. Just a thought. Much kudos to you and Vincent by the way :) Cheers - Gary

Gary,as I'm 'colour deficient (green/red) I never noticed any 'bubble' but usually(!)received an email notification on poem/soupmail comments etc the link therein took me to the comment

Hi Brian. Sorry to hear about your colour deficiency. That can't be easy. I have had email notifications too but not for every comment received and tbh I dont check my emails too often. For me anyway the bubble just made things so much easier. They are / were part of the site. Not that there were bubbles every day week or even month next to my name mind. :) Cheers - Gary
