Speaks Volumes Biography

I am an average Aussie. Am blessed to have been born here. Now in my 70's and haven't found a place that I would rather be than Australia. We have our faults but its a good place. In the 54th year of marriage to the same bloke. We raised 3 terrific individuals and have 3 equally great grandkids. I have no achievements worth mentioning, worked from the time I was 15 to til I was 63. I was born later in my parent's life. They were age pensioners by the time I was 15. I auditioned and was accepted into a prestigious acting and drama institution to further my schooling, but financially it wasn't mentioned that I would do anything other than leave school when I was 15 and get a job, which I did. As a teenager I always loved committing my feelings to paper. If it didn't rhyme to me it wasn't poetry. I know this isn't the case in the world of literature and poetry but its just the way I see it. Healthwise we have hit a low spot in our lives and although I have enjoyed being a part of this site as it allows expression of thought to be posted without harsh critique from those more talented. I now find it too time consuming to be an active member. I love writing and reading others work, but its impossible to write read and comment as I cant afford the time. I write when I can (usually late at night, instead of sleeping), and I do read many poems of others as I find them delightful. I dont have much time for replying to comments or commenting on all the wonderful poems I read. I do ask a favour : Consider this a THANK YOU if you have commented on my work, its never expected. Please if I have been moved to spend time commenting on your poem, dont feel you have to compliment one of mine in return. I would love to comment on all your wonderful poems, but time just doesn't allow. If my guilt gets much worse I will just cancel all commenting on my poems which  seems such an anti social thing to do.   Best wishes to all.  SV

Speaks, I put your poem through the eight AI detectors I use in my contests and each one verified that your poem is Human Written. Not a trace of AI. Who is this person? If this is suppose to be a friend, get rid of them !

The AI detectors are not that accurate. If you check a poem with three different sites, the results with vary. It's a shame that poetry has come to this. There are those on poetry sites who do use AI to win contests as well as steal poems, or lines of other's poetry and plagiarize. Have you checked your poem with some of the AI detectors? I would suggest messaging the contest sponsor regarding this as well, maybe your poem will still be considered for placement.

I've never had reason to use an AI detector Tania, because I have never been a sponsor to a contest. I fall short of being good enough to being able to judge all the wonderful poets on here. Usually I am happy to compete against those that need the help of AI. BUT NOT WHEN ACCUSED OF USING IT MYSELF. I am confident of my own ability to be a little better than mediocre. Thanks for the supportive comment. Soto is a very fair judge, I am usually content when he puts me in my place with an N/A when I offer up a rushed or lazy poem,,, he rewards good poetry by all.

Rhyme is my go to form as well, sometimes all it takes a random sentence and the brain gets rhyming 😂 When you enjoy something its always better. And don't underestimate your skill. You are better than OK at writing. And the fun is what adds to making poetry so special to engage with. Your positivity is inspiring, to see the AI claim as a challenge rather than discouraging. It gives you the fire and the drive. ✍️😉

I ran your poem through a few AI checkers all came back 100% human. Totally as I expected.❤️

Its so wrong that any author should have their authenticity stolen or questioned by the accusation of the use of AI. Apart from the time, effort and heart that goes into creating each poem, for so many of us writing is part of who we are. Raising my head above the parapet a bit saying this but I take each poem at face value when reading and judging. I always assume human written unless otherwise stated or proved. AI has its place and its uses but it has well outgrown its place in our world. Hoping this experience does not discourage you from writing. All the best ✍️✍️✍️

On the contrary Natasha, I am not that good at much, and in this group I have found something that I am OK at and the bonus is that I enjoy writing. So when a machine claims credit for what I did, it encourages me to do even better. I do pretty well at rhyming, I even think in rhyme at times. Throw 6 unrelated words at me and I will come up with a 12 line poem that rhymes well and I will have fun doing it.

AI checkers aren't always trustworthy. I think we've all been a victim at one time or another. I learned a long time ago to 'let it go.' It's not a battle that we have control over.

The battle, battles and the war are all over. We lost. Most just don't realize it yet or don't want to accept it.

Relax. Whoever wrote this relied on AI to compose the analysis and letter. A bit ironic and hypocritical at the same time of the person.
