My Bio

What would you like to know?  I’ll cover some of the basics and if you have questions, feel free to ask. Vicki and I have been married for thirty-eight (38) years in August.  I’m a retired school administrator and she continues to serve as a Theatre Arts teacher. We have two (2) adult children who are also teachers and both are happily married. I’m proud to say that everyone holds a Master’s Degree.  We are blessed to have two (2) beautiful granddaughters and do our very best to teach, love and spoil them all at the same time.

Vicki and I live in a country home in Wichita County in North-Central Texas. I spend my time Farming and writing. I consider my first published book to be a great personal accomplishment. As I Recall, is a collection of short narrative essays and poetry that shares memories from my life. Check it out some day.

Great photos, Ray: I imagine they took some landing. Do they still grow that big these days? When I lived in Tasmania we would fish for flathead. They were so sweet pan fried in butter....

The lakes here are at 25% capacity. I'm afraid we're gonna lose a lot of fish if we don't get a lot of rain. They have been seeding clouds and it has produced a little, but not enough.

Wow........if you had tried to write about the size of those fish, I would have thought they were just 'whopper-sized fish stories'.........but you have the proof in those photos!! Those fish are large enough to feed an army !!!

And we did feed armies. We had picnics when I was young and Dad fried fish for everyone associated with the oil company where he worked. Later, just feeding the family was like feeding an army. We still have a picnic and fry fish at Easter. I can't wait!

Awesome string of crappie! Definitely the best tasting freshwater fish in the South. I'll give the nod to walleye in the North. Catie, there are several varieties of what are commonly (but erroneously) referred to as perch (sunfish) which can grow to a good size and are very tasty as well - Bluegill, Goggle-eye and Nutcracker to name a few.

Spoken like a true Texan! Mom would fry up any fish we would catch no matter what time it was. It was a trick to teach us to clean our own catch. And we cleaned many a Bluegill. Watch out for the bones!

No Catie, Those are crappie. Look them up online. Just about the best eating fish ever to take a hook. You need to try one sometime.
