My Bio

What would you like to know?  I’ll cover some of the basics and if you have questions, feel free to ask. Vicki and I have been married for thirty-eight (38) years in August.  I’m a retired school administrator and she continues to serve as a Theatre Arts teacher. We have two (2) adult children who are also teachers and both are happily married. I’m proud to say that everyone holds a Master’s Degree.  We are blessed to have two (2) beautiful granddaughters and do our very best to teach, love and spoil them all at the same time.

Vicki and I live in a country home in Wichita County in North-Central Texas. I spend my time Farming and writing. I consider my first published book to be a great personal accomplishment. As I Recall, is a collection of short narrative essays and poetry that shares memories from my life. Check it out some day.

...And the Rain Came To Mayfield

I haven’t spent much time writing poetry lately.   My wife and I have contracted to do Theatre and Speech work with an area school and have been very busy. The work has paid off as our production of “...And the Rain Came To Mayfield” has advanced to State level  competition. We’ll do our best to “break a leg” at the show next week. I’ll try to post a picture if I can.

The kids had a fantastic performance at state. We did not place in the top three, however. Many of those watching stopped Vicki and I to tell is how wonderful it was. Two of the players were recognized for their performance. The Prose and Poetry interpers competed the following week and the Prose interpers places third and fifth! Quite a feat to have two in the final round at state. The each beat 630 competitors through district, Regional and State rounds. Our Poetry reader missed the final round by one placing as did an extemporaneous speaker. Pictures from the play are posted in my photos what a GREAT bunch of kids.

It has been both challenging and rewarding. We will also have Two Prose and one poetry interpers at State along with informative and persuasive speakers. Thanks for your lovely comment. I would have thought you might be the first.
