Kissie Banks Biography

Bio: Kissie Banks

Newark native Kissie Banks crafts poetry that blends rhyme, rhythm, and profound emotion. Her work explores the depths of love, loss, and humanity, often evolving into sentimental melodies that resonate deeply with her audience.

Kissie’s passion began in childhood journals and flourished in her high school Writer’s Club. Since then, her work has been featured in The Recorder, and her collection, Last Notes, showcases her unique ability to weave narrative through verse. From the urban energy of "Crowded Streets" to the haunting introspection of "Peek and See," her poetry invites readers into a world of vivid imagery.

A mother of two, Kissie shares her craft with her daughters, often reading them her signature poem, "Lullaby for my Brown-Eyed Girls." Whether she is exploring the intricacies of relationships or the quiet beauty of nature, Kissie’s work remains an engaging, thought-provoking tapestry of life experience.
