I found poetry soup around 1 month ago. And have been submitting my material from that point on.
I feel that this web site offers a great opportunity of resource and expossure as well as support for I have been receiving many comments from its members which I greatly appreaciate. I also do wish to mention that a friend of mine from Kew Gardens new york unfortunately he does not wish for me to mention his name but reads this site now.
A lot of the material I have been submitting has been written over the course of 20 years there are a few pieces that are new like "assumption" and "I dont believe in religon". When something or someone inspires or challenges my integrity I am motivated to do something about it, I can not just sit and let it pass. Howver what I have and have yet to submit is all written by me and always will be by me. I do not copy anyones material and without sounding egotistical I have no need or desire to. a portion of my material is beng re-written and denotes that. When I use "Edited Version" that's a hint.
Over 20 years you learn what is good and what isn't good and how to upgrade ones style. You also get into a flow when inspiration occures. This site has given me the opportunity to really take a closer look at my written collection. When I am wrting a new poem or re-crafting a old one I find myself sometimes up to 2 and even 3 in the morning. My material seems to be geared more to the country scene rather than the New York Scene. Last night While searching the net I found someone whom lives and works in Kings Mountain NC. After reading the mans Bio which has a very long and impressive list of Credits. Weirdly enough ten maybe twelve years I had a vision with 3 parts to it in detail. I'd writen it down as I do with all my dreams and or visions. I wrote down the mans name and description and his vocation. I belive he is the next step in the direction I must take my lyrical writings to.
Ironically when one door closes another opens. for me it revolves around the releasing of energy. for me, I have had all my momentoes that I have collected over the years sitting inside a filing cabinet and never honored them. for the past month I have begun hanging those items up, however last night was speical. I had a place called Hobby Lobby picture frame a number of autographs I received from 10 well know music people. For me this honors my past as well as opening the door to future opportunities. I call this synchronicity because everyone and everything is interconnected. And what I am guided to do is not so much for myself but for the purpose of whom it inspires and or touches.
One last thing>>>>
dont just believe your in your dreams, that is just one part of the step, know it can happen, feel it . Thought , seeing it within your minds eye. action, phiysical. Intention, knowing what your doing is not just for yourself. And have fun doing it. Basically see the world through a childs eyes.
Bye for now
