A proper introduction

     Hello, this is my first blog post as I hope to be posting many more. While I have been apart of the community since early last year, I have decided to become more active in it. I want to grow as a writer and poet. I apologize for not being as active last year but one of my resolutions is to change than and increase my participation. As such, I have decided- finally- to become a premium member. Poetry gives me a sense of expression and I do not want to keep it all for myself alone. I hope I can someday be an inspiration to other writers as writers now are for me. As long as ive been here I never properly introduced who I am. I am a young high school senior who is about to enter the next chapter of her life as a college student. I have found a passion in writing, and even though I am not majoring in the field I intend to continue to write. I do not write for a career I write to better myself as a person. 

   I am new to short stories, having posted my first yesterday that I had been working on since last year. If that is something you would wish to see more of- or less of- let me know! I want to be interactive with my readers as you are just as important to my page. I am also looking to explore into different types of poetry beyond my usual free verse. I am looking to try a Haiku next, along with more light poetry in addition. 

My favorite poet that fueled- and continues to fuel- my growing passion is none other than Edgar Allan Poe whose short stories and poetry continue to inspire my own writing.
