My Second Love

I don't know if you feel the love for me,
But I know that I do;
Acknowledging the desire for your love,
Craving the attention of your love.

I loved you more than I loved my last love,
I fell hard for your love,
Thinking that your love gave me,
An alluring charm ,
To fall in your arms.

The moment I fell in your arms,
I was pricked at my heart ;
With your thorns of detachment,
And a wreath of distrust.

Who knew my poor soul
Would be bleeding flowers around the thorns ?
The soul was screaming in pain ,
Begging for your love ,
The only begotten love it ever craved for.

For your warm , ever inviting gaze ,
I sacrificed my love;
The love that was repressed deep in the closet of my heart ,
The love that was trying to put pieces of, friendship back together ,
Just to hear from you again.

Days passed by and so did several months,
I was never able to lock my love deep inside of me,
For my love knows how it feels like to be tortured in the walls of disbelief;
I tried to dress my love in an armour,
But that armour shone brighter than the sun,
So bright that it burnt those who tried to touch it.

You were the sky ,
I saw your soul in the wind ,
Flying so high and free,
Free from love and reality;
My soul felt some peace looking at you that way
Because I was afraid of touching the love you offered,
Thinking you deserved something better.
