Underground

there is a poem on the wall
two words-one of four-one of five
a poem on the underground wall
no one knows who-he ran off into the night
a two worded poem-what can it mean?
the days of Dylan are gone
when it could be put to song
and still be believed
it is the spoken word that drives our world
what it says is open to interpretation
but as consolation
I'll tell you what it means
Love and Peace
try to understand-you can't
try to see it as the a-train rapidly speeds away
carrying on her people who live faster than she
what it says is open to interpretation
but despite my hesitation
I'll tell you what it means
Love and Peace
all we need is love to give peace a chance
but we need more than love or peace will never come
if we lack the conviction to remain committed
to the poem on the underground wall
