Timeless

It was a while since I looked,
for a time there was no time,
no place
time moves on,
time tells me things,
tells me good
tells me bad,
tells me its time to look
tells me time to not settle

So I looked,
and in time it showed me,
and in a week it crushed me,

Time showed me a beautiful woman,
so interesting and complex,
gorgeous and kind,
but wounded.
like me.

I saw a future in those dark beautiful eyes,
and it was wonderful,
and my heart yearned for it,
but I held distance,

her smile was intoxicating,
timid,
like a trembling rose,
her eyes like a dark wonderous ocean I wanted to lose myself in,
her touch was warm

we walked for the night,
talking, consoling
when it was over we embraced,
i looked upon her beautiful radiant face
glowing in the light of the street lamp

she could have been a work of magnificent art,
made immortal by the curves of her smile,
she kissed me.
And then we kissed.
We could have gone on like that till the end of time.
but like all good things one way or the other
End

A few days past and time came back,
and within a few hours of my day ended this bliss
and drove an anvil into my chest
oh how long has it been since I've had this
this pain

I will miss you
you radiant beam of light,
maybe we'll cross paths again
maybe time will allow healing
maybe we will be.
