Crescent
For the Moon ne'er shined as brightly as the Sun
That, alone, impulsed me to look up into its imperfect beauty
We were alone-- different-- but always surrounded
The Moon in her dark entity
While I in my airless field
There were many nights I spent with the Moon
Some were clear
Others were starless and cloudy
Nonetheless I loved that iridescent figure I could ne'er reach
I smiled upon her cratered beauty
And the eccentrics of her pale-gray heart
Though her Siren calls taunted my dreams
The Moon would be full
But it was all an illusion
For when I ran to her --open arms--
She became quarterly, and finally half
The Moon, I could ne'er hold as my own
So I, as Wind, blew elsewhere onto the Earth
Though she still smiles at me invitingly
I try to look away, for there is no atmosphere where she resides
But I must admit, the Moon and me --we dance occasionally
For, as Wind --I am ne'er seen
And as for the Moon?
She ne'er shined as brightly as the Sun
