Roots

Roots

                                                  A beautiful rare flower
sprung up out of the center
of the desert only to be greeted
by the hostel environment of the scorching sun.
After days and weeks had past!
the brutality of the mighty desert had almost claimed
the very part of the flower that had brought it life.
                                                   Frail and dehydrated
the flower found what little strength it could
                                                   to call upon its roots.
Give me the strength to push on!
help me to defeat the inner blackness that surrounds me!
and give life to my soul once again.
Help me to breath beauty into my
                                                         surroundings
and may the light of the scorching sun
                                                bring purity and protection.
                                                       Against all odds!
the flower survived the inner darkness
                                                    of the mighty desert.
                                                      Through the faith
of its roots and the light that
                                                         surrounds it.
                                              The flower is forever Radiant!

Very neat poem. I love the way you have so gracefully painted a story without even mentioning anything beyond a picture to play in our minds. Very well written Eric, will be following your work.
