The end of this day draws nigh,
The morning sun giving in to the night.
The pain I've always hid holds me tight,
'As the misty moon rides on high'.
The life I held with importance,
Slips from my grasp and into the furnace.
I hope the night sky gives me assurance,
'As the misty moon rides on high'.
Just know that I tried as my time passed,
Tried not to get lost in the dark night of my past,
Tried to find my glazing sun beneath the misty moon,
Even when all hope seemed to be lost too soon.
I just wish if for one more night,
You could hug and hold me tight,
'As the misty moon rides on high'
