Beautiful Ugly

My chest hurts.
It hurts like picking roses with thorns
Not knowing something so beautiful can hurt so bad
Only love
It reminds me
How pretty lies can be and how ugly truths are
How no one expects the expected anymore. Only lies
My chest hurts.
It hurts from holding your secrets and tears
From pushing down my own and holding onto you
You can't save those who dont want it
My chest hurts.
It hurts from the inside. The inside where my heart is
I cant take it out for you, but I can trust you.
I can forget talks Mama gave and warnings Papa gave
Just to hold your hand
and kiss your beautiful brown lips
My chest hurts.
Because all you seem to do is lie. And all i seem to do
is take it.
You told me your chest hurts.
You said you can't take it anymore.
You told me how it felt as if you couldn't breath
You said I would never understand your pain
You told me I was only a distraction.
My chest hurts.
