The Iron Patriot

The Iron Patriot

Your actions they speak out to us all
Even when backs are against the wall
I love how you always stand up tall
That is a strength for all and all
Even though we don't have your sight
There is something we can learn from you
It's something we should and must all do

Son I totally admire you
Although it may not always seem that way
I'll go ahead and say it anyway

You signed your name where most would never think
Washington would be proud if he's staring down from the clouds

Your a Patriot
to the core
a hero amongst us all

Your my son
like so many others now
A family of brothers standing strong against the demons that plague this land
Defending here and abroad
On a mountain in the freezing cold
Or a desert in the scorching heat
Through a jungle or into the night
Son your making things alright

Your mother and I were so proud
On the day you came into our lives

Now your an Iron Patriot hard as steel
to the core never wavering
always there
Defending freedom for all who care
We could never have asked for more

You set aside your well being for all and all

and
for the Corp
You'd lay down your life for lives you've never met
You'd run through the desert and sleep on the
ground

That's a worthy trait and deserves an ovation
We'll all thank you when your back home
Cherish all you are doing and remember the sacrifices those have made to get us here

When your done with the Corp and out in the world

Your still a Patriot to the core

We thank you for what you do for us all

You take down an enemy that keeps tyranny in hand

Thousands of people lost their lives
9/11 stands out in our minds
I held you in my arms so tight that day
On the front lines you take a stand
To remove terror from our minds

Instilling a sense of honor and pride
This ain't about eye for an eye
God don't approve of that
but they're gonna pay for the treacherous things they have brought to our door
So wherever you are and whenever you look to the sky whether it be the moon or the stars you see
Know that we are looking up there too!
So a few words to our lord' please bring them all home! To your brothers, sisters our sons and our daughters, please lord bring them all home safe and sound!

Amen

Today, I greet you with a Joyous New Year with this prayer from the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
