The Sad Music of the Hills

The haunting , silent, sad music of the hills
Purple heather on the roadside
As the car winds its way up the steep
To my little cottage in the little village
My home for a while
Where the solitude cleansed me
Made me humble and still
Where the angels and my books
Were my only friends and companions
I surrendered
And went to sleep
With the faith in my heart
that the Light which has always
protected me, will grace me again
Like a blanket wrapping a new born child.

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
