Passed

PASSED

Passed, just a few days ago now . . .
a living, breathing soul, into an eternity
that is only one tick away from our own beating hearts,
an eternity that surrounds everything we can ever know.

Passed into the eons of time, that we can never know again,
are her life and soul, but not her love.
Her love that surrounds us and that is unsurpassed,
is passed into our lives like the late autumn glow
of the maple down by the road.

It colors the tone of our breath and bone.
It sings the song of our memories.
