Don'T Look At Me
The day you think well of me,
I'll think Well, I should've too.
It'll be when I'm out of breath,
From holding it just for you.
But I've passed out a hundred times,
And I've missed all the sunny days.
How the weeks have just gone by,
Fairest weather, too soon to fade.
I'm ablaze in soliloquy,
Drag a match, ignite compromise.
Light a torch just to torture me,
Then pretend it's no winning prize.
I've expansive humility,
Cut me down just to fit your size.
For a distance, I've journeyed far,
Though you gave up and never tried.
And I wish it were over now,
Though I know it's not yet begun -
And my enemy's deepest fear
Isn't weapons or loaded guns.
He's afraid of who's in the mirror;
Equal measures, and blinding sun.
All-to-perfect perplexity,
The reflection of Two as One.
