Tracks In the Snow

Someone has been on my deck;
footprints abound in snow.
I wonder if there's been a break-in.
I checked the locks... But, no.

But someone seems to be drawn to this place
for reasons I don't know.
Unless they think there's something here
that they can take and go.

I made a plan to catch them.
Seems they're active most at night.
For every morn I wake and look,
there's new prints at first light.

At 6am I snuck downstairs
and much to my delight,
there's junkos, wrens and cardinals
and titmice taking flight.

The feeders must have drawn them.
There's nothing else to eat.
I'll drink my morning coffee, and
enjoy my front row seat.
