Your Song

Laying on my bed
Listening to your favorite song
Tapping along to the beats
I almost forgot you weren’t here

I glance over at where you used to lay next to me
We used to laugh and cry and talk for hours
Comfortable next to each other

There’s the window we used to look out of
Watching the people walk by and the sun turn pink and red
There’s the poster you gave me
That day you forgot my birthday
It isn’t me at all
But you never knew me
You never cared enough to
Get to know what I loved

When I loved you
And I knew exactly what you wanted
What you needed
What you loved

When you didn’t love me
You were just waiting with me
For the perfect guy to come
He can pick you up and hold you
Like I never could

The song hits the chorus
We used to jump up and down
Swing our hair all around
The perfect movie moment

The song slows down
It’s nearly over
You used to love this part
Say the end was the best
Maybe the end of us was the best
But now I’m the one left alone

The song ends
