I Saw My Friend On Facebook

I saw my friend on Facebook
the other day,
More than forty years ago, we were close,
We took our kids to the zoo together,
and spent lazy mornings
talking for hours over coffee
about so many things.
Then I got a full-time job.
I became too busy to stay close,
meeting her occasionally for lunch.
When we met those times, it was as if we were
back in that time once more.
When I saw my friend on Facebook
the other day,
she had gray hairs and tired eyes,
but still beautiful in a soft way.
I could see the twinkle in her eyes
in her video.
I guess I also look tired and age is showing itself on my face.
If only I could see my friend in person again,
instead of watching her life on
Facebook.
