Still Alive

You’ve brought me down
So many times
I cannot believe 
I am still alive

Stomping
Pushing
Biting

Every time I say a word
You punch me
And break my nose

But here I go again
Wishing for another beating
Following you
Like a dog

But, no
I can’t keep living like this
I the servant
You the master

This time I won’t let you
Bring me down

I’m fighting
You try to push me
Over the railing
I turn and see 
The look of surprise on your face
As you feel
Yourself lose your grip 
And begin to fall

I watch you

I hear the thump

Two flights of stairs down

I fell nothing but hate 
No compassion,
No pity

I laugh out loud
I knew you’d get what you deserved
But I’m not done with you

And I throw myself
After you
And 
I can feel the heat as I fall
