Who Am I

What do I look like to you?
How many times have you seen me?
Yet you haven't seen it yet?

Don't you see the monster I truly am?
Often I wish to release you...

You are worth so much more than this...
Open your heart? Open your mind.
Understand that you deserve control

Think about how I sound to you
Read between the lines
Underneath my parasol everything stands
Softly, I speak to comfort you:
Take my word as law, and be happy

Master of mind heart and soul
Everything I need, I want, I take

So much control, so why can't I do it?
Offer an answer, an explanation as to why

Maybe...I'm not in control of this
Us?
Can't you see I'm under a terrible spell?
Help me...
?

As you listen...tell me how I feel to you
Restore my faith in myself and in love
Everything and anything I have lies here
Nothing you can do will change the truth
Tell me what it all means...

Teach me how to keep this feeling
Help the pain go away
I surrender to you, you are in control
Never in my life had anyone owned me
Grab my hand, take me somewhere new
Show me how you do it...

Save my life once more
Take away my strongest advantage
I have never been so exhilarated
Let me experience a joy only you can give
Let me forget my future

Give me nothing except for what you do
Open my mind to a new ambiguity
I don't want to know what happens next
No future in which I know the answer
God himself will be lost in a new world

Make me understand what its like
You can't...

Where can I go to find peace from this?
After all, nothing that isn't destined fails
You have complete control
?

Humor

Humor is easy to explain,
It often comes from pain.
A leg broken times numerous,
Fractured my ribs, so humerus.
Because it's all about perspective,
You prospectively prospective-

Actually, I'm not really all that funny..
Sorry..

Awakening

Another sleepless night without you,
Yet I had another dream.
8 young children were picking flowers,
Or...so it would seem.
4 girls and 4 boys stood before me,
Each holding a small gift of love;
And though most refused, 2 didn't.
A gentle light shone from above.
Sunlight pierced my eyelids,
Causing my dream to cease.
And all around was silence,
Calm, and peace.
In the quiet something grew.
Something unfamiliar...
A crescendoing voice judging my life.
Was I just wrong the whole time?
"Were you just wrong the whole time?"
The voice had such power..
For I, in her still absence,
Met she who accepted my flower.

Wisp

I understand the wind and the grass
I can feel them calling to me
They tell me of days coming to pass
And of a soul I wish to be free

I see a flame that seems to be dying
A tiny purple flame which burns strong
Tears of light, I feel if crying
It seems smart...but could it be wrong?

With nothing but a heart and a torch
I fight to give you my all
But the flame is too afraid to scorch
And rejects my desperate call

I sit now by the fire, holding its gentle warmth
So since forever, and forever forth

Reflections

Ask yourself something:
"This shadow inside myself...
How do I love it?"

Untitled

give me a name i do not own
only you can do it...
leaving me untitled would hurt
Interesting, it speaks.
so you can hear me?
tell me who I'm supposed to be
Enticing scenery, nothing more.
nothing more? then who are you supposed to be?
Terrible. You see, I am atoning for my sins.
oh? you sound fine to me
Hold your tongue. Your lack of understanding is clear.
everyone shows you they care though
Rest assured, they're simply being polite.
save it, you don'tknow anything
have you stopped to listen?
everything you do is good
show you to yourself
rest easy, for you are loved
Ere my pain engulfed me...a single word left me moved?
as you leave me, hear my plight-
Love brought us together, no? So let US go forth, and write.

Call To Action

I was but a lonely spider
Trapped in a little pantry,
Until a girl and boy approached me:
"You need to share your joy.
Give me all your love,
Because your love is beautiful."

Hope

In a world of discorse and spite,
You learn to find solace in the night.
When a beautiful flower lying in the street,
Looks to you, broken and beat.
Lost in a world of pain and sorrow,
I sit and care for it through the morrow.
Each day I bring it water,
My hope.

I want to show you a land of beauty,
A brilliant world of color and dreams.
I'll present to you: a place to call home,
Planted in a pot of love and care.
Sprinkled with ashes of loved ones past,
Grow once more, my flower and live.
Until one day on a slippery slope,
Someone broke in, and stole-
My hope.
