Corruption

Corruption.

It is cruel,
to poverty it is a fuel,
and to the devil it is a jewel.

Corruption kills the hopes of the unborn,
it corrupts the life of the one yet to be born,
and make the land decay to the bone,
as all people needs in order to live will be gone.

A corrupt person is a thief,
a corrupt person is a murderer,
yes, a corrupt person butchers all dreams.

Corruption corrupts the corrupt first.

South African Youth

Walking down this road,
Being a South African youth,
All i have is my sweat,
Nothing comes from it is sweet,
But astonishment from witnessing this greed.

My bag is full,
But with nothing useful,
If not only empty promises,
That they promised my father whene he was a youth,
And will promise my kids when they are youths,
As long as there is youth in South Africa,
They will continue to loot in our name,
Profess fake love in our name,
And have apartheit to blame,
For their own corruption game.

Now i feel less of a human being,
But a tool they only need when the world awaits their words,
So they can use me to show their work,
A work that benefits no worker.

Now they celebrate us in 16 June,
But we have no reason to celebrate them in this cold of winter June.

A Crime Scene

Police lines,
Flashing lights,
its a crime scene.

That is our beloved mother earth,
criminals cremated her morals,
her beauty they tarnished with their evil deeds,
turning her into a crime scene.

Lo! The heroes of yesterday are today's criminals,
criminals of today are heroes,
in this fallen land of ours.

Lies are carrying the crown,
ruling over the fading truth,
besmirching all it stands for,
turning honesty into fallacy,
all in the name of greed.
Indeed, our land is a crime scene.

Hear you our lamentations,
let our tears cleans our land,
let our loud resonating cries shush inhumanity,

Lo! hear you our cries.

Wisdom

Sometimes
saying nothing,
sounds sweet.

Poverty

I hate it not,
but I love it not.

I don't hate it for it taught me wisdom,
I hate it for it deprived me my freedom.

Poverty grounded me,
with it misery surrounded me,
but focus it taught me.

I hate it not,
but I love it not.

From it I learned respect,
but it made me feel like a reject.

I hate it not,
but I love it not.

Rose

Your life comes from within the earth,
where your roots are hidden,
but your beauty is uncovered.

When heavy rains take out your leaves,
you smile at them,
for you know they are giving you life.

When the night comes,
in darkness you prepare yourself,
for the morning to come,
and present yourself flawless to your owner.

Indeed, you don't only have the beauty of a woman,
but you also posses the heart of a mother,
who always cry in silence,
to force pain into silence.

Sudden Death

My future is right before me,
but my past refuses to rest in its shallow grave,
the grave I dug trying to be brave,
trying to show life that I can move on,
and yes, on I moved,
but my past deep enough I didn't move,
now it killed my future,
it died a sudden death,
because I refused to take heed,
when it was all before me to read,
that nature cannot be tamed,
just as old habits cannot be chained,
but deserve only to be killed.

I Am Who I Am

Even though dark clouds cover my eyes,
I know my sight is from within.
Even though my enemies exceeds my friends,
i know alone i can make it.

You may break my heart,
but you cant take away my life.
You may turn our love into the bitterness of my life,
but my loving heart you cant take.
You may cause me pain,
but you cant change the level of my resilience.

You may disrespect me,
but you cant take away my dignity.
You may humiliate me,
but you cant take away my humanity.
You may hate me,
but you cant make me to hate you.

For i am who i am,
not who your actions wants me to be.

Freedom Day

Graves opened their arms for their lives,
when their mothers cry for their lives,
the lives that paid for our freedom.

Inexorable was the spilling of blood,
tormenting was the fetid of carcases,
when the life of a man was reduced to inferiority,
yes, so inferior their death was a cough.

But lo! South Africa saw the dawn,
when the day 27 April came,
wiping away all the indentations
left behind by the regime.

We celebrated,
when the rays of its sun melted the chains of oppression,
we celebrated,
when fear became afraid of our unity,
yes, we celebrated,
when freedom gave back to South Africa its beauty,
the beauty we call,
a rainbow nation.

Happy freedom day South Africa.

What Happened

What happened,
to the pulchritude of love,
that now it hates to love?.
