Was/Never Was

I miss my lover, my friend, my soul-sister
She WAS my fire.
She WAS my air.
She Was the water
that quenched my thirst for love.
She WAS......but not anymore.
Our spirit has been broken
as well as my heart.
The magic was just an illusion.
It made me believe in something that WAS never there,
Undying True Love.....

........Getting stronger everyday.
More independent, in every way!
I see, I see, I now see
The me that I'm supposed to be.
Stand on my own 2 feet
..and Grow.

No, no, don't give ME sad eyes!
They cry and show a need; a want
but they need & want for selfish reasons;
It has NOTHING to do with me,
Even though you say
"This is all your fault!!"
I miss the fantasy of what could've been,
but it NEVER, Ever, WAS.

Keep Livin'

You think you won't ever get your feelings hurt?
Keep livin'.
You think you will never fall in love?
Keep livin'.
You think that no bad deed goes unpunished?
Keep livin'.
You think you'll never have to sacrifice for ANYTHING??
KEEP LIVIN'.
You thought you were gonna get away with cheating on your spouse?, your
School work?,
The I.R.S.??
Keep Livin'.
You think that in this life, this is all there is?
Yeah......Keep Livin'.
You think you will never be hungry?
Keep Livin'.
You think you will never give yourself to another again?
Keep Livin'.
You think you will be alone for the rest of your life?
Keep Livin'.
You think that God won't answer your Prayers?
Keep Livin'.
You can't understand why the cost of Gas and Food and Housing keep rising?
Try to Keep Livin'.
You ever wonder what your future holds?
Keep livin'.
You think you're depressed?
Keep livin'.
You think sex is the end-all, be-all?
Ha!.....Keep Livin'.....
You think you know everything?
...Keep livin'.
